Borrowed Brilliance
September 30, 2026
Some of the best leadership ideas are borrowed.
From a colleague who approaches a problem differently. From a family who helps us understand what matters most to their child. From someone who asks a question we had not thought to ask.
We bring our own experience and judgment to the work. And we keep learning from the people around us. Both matter.
Think about the people you work alongside: educators, therapists, service coordinators, families, and program leaders. Each sees something the others may not. What might become possible when we bring those perspectives together?
Borrow it. Adapt it. Share it.
Notice an idea worth keeping. Make it useful in your own world.
And when someone's thinking helps you, tell them. Give them credit.
You do not have to have all the answers. Stay curious enough to recognize good thinking wherever you find it.
A QUESTION TO CARRY WITH YOU
Whose brilliance might I borrow?
