The Gift Of Being Seen

October 16, 2026

Mister Rogers asked a beautiful question: "Who has loved you into being?"

‍We don't discover who we are entirely on our own.

Imagine a woman sharing a story with a few other women.

Maybe it's about a hard decision she made, or something she does every day without giving it much thought.

To her, there's nothing remarkable about it. But someone else hears something different.

"Do you realize how much courage that took?" Or, "I love the way you make people feel welcome."

She's surprised. She hadn't thought of herself that way. It's just who she is.

We often think helping people grow means teaching them something new. Sometimes it does.

But sometimes it means noticing a strength that's already there and taking a moment to name it.

And it goes both ways. Sometimes we're the ones helping someone see. Sometimes we're the ones being seen.

A QUESTION TO CARRY WITH YOU

What do you see in someone that they might not see in themselves?

Perhaps today is a good day to tell them.

‍

Leadership begins with ourselves. Being truly seen can change how we see ourselves.
